How Often Do Pilots Need to Take Simulator Tests After Completing Their Initial Pilot Training in Central Oklahoma?

Every six months, airline pilots must complete two days of training and testing in a flight simulator to ensure that their operational capabilities are up to standard. It is not necessary to meet the training time requirements specified in the regulations for the requested aircraft class qualification, unless the person only possesses a lighter-than-air category qualification with a balloon class rating and is seeking an airship class qualification. In this case, they must receive the specified training time requirements and possess appropriate aeronautical experience. The person who provided the training must sign the applicant's logbook or training record after each lesson in accordance with § 61.51 (h) (of this part). In order to obtain additional privileges of light sports aircraft, a recreational pilot must successfully complete an aptitude check provided by an authorized instructor other than the instructor who trained them in the areas of aeronautical knowledge and the areas of operation specified in articles 61,309 and 61,311. If they have been diagnosed with any medical condition that may affect their ability to fly, they must be under the care and treatment of a state-licensed physician when acting as pilot-in-command or serving as a member of the flight crew required in an operation performed under § 61,113 (i).A person applying for an air transport pilot certificate with the total flight times listed in paragraphs (a), (b), (c) and (d) of this section must meet the aeronautical experience requirements of § 61.159, except that they may apply for an air transport pilot certificate with 200 hours of flight time across the country.

Before taking the practical exam to obtain the sports pilot certificate, they must receive an approval in the logbook of the authorized instructor who provided them with flight training in the areas of operation specified in articles 61.309 and 61.311 in preparation for the practical exam. In class B, C and D airspace, a pilot may act as a pilot in command of an aircraft without possessing a medical certificate issued under part 67 of this chapter, provided that they possess a valid U. S. driver's license. They can also train on a light sports aircraft that is an aircraft with a VH less than or equal to 87 knots CAS, if it has the endorsement specified in § 61.327 (a) or is otherwise authorized to operate that aircraft for light sports. A maximum of 50 hours of training in a full flight simulator or flight training device can be credited to the flight time requirements of the instrument in paragraph (a) () (of this section) if the aeronautical experience is performed in an approved course taught by a certified training center under part 142 of this chapter.

The logbook or training log must be supported by an authorized instructor that verifies compliance with the corresponding night flight training requirements of this subpart. Finally, if flying within class B airspace, the logbook of that pilot student must be endorsed by the authorized instructor who provided them with flight training within 90 days prior to their flight.
